Stadium Gets Photoplasma Air Purifiers
Large venues are serious about protecting air quality when it is a major factor in preventing disease outbreaks. Check this out, from Bernama.com:
Four Photoplasma Air Purifiers have been installed inside the Putra Stadium in a move to check the spread of Influenza A (H1N1) during the Thomas and Uber Cup tournaments at the venue when it starts this Sunday.
National Sports Institute (NSI) director-general Datuk Dr Ramlan Abd Aziz said this was the first time such a step was being taken for sports events in the country and was specially aimed at killing any A H1N1 viruses that may be present inside the stadium.
“The promoter has put four purifiers, one each at every corner in the stadium. I was told the gadget is not like the normal air purifier. It produces capable of killing viruses,” he told Bernama, here on Wednesday.
Dr Ramlan said the gadget, produced in the United States, was very effective in preventing bird flu A (H5N1) outbreaks.
It’s measures like these that should help keep the earth from getting wiped out by disease, but it’ll be up to us humans to make sure that we actually use these technologies to our benefit.
